Today I didn’t start work until 12, so I went out in the rain and shot this. I was disappointed to find that the rubble had been cleared away, and danger signs had been put it. I wonder if this building will be demolished soon.

It was a classy shoot, me walking through the woods in my gown, in the rain. Putting a plastic bag over my camera / tripod to keep it dry…. No expense spared!

Legs/hips/knees are still bad. Not as bad as they were though, teamed with the fact I’ve had a headache for most of the day too does not make for an award winning day at all.
The bonus to this is that I don’t have to be in work until 12 tomorrow, which means I get a cheeky mid week lie in ^-^

I am part of a little photography group, and this evening we went wire wool spinning : ) I’ve been twice before but I’ve always just gone to take a shot for my project rather than to play around at it. It was very fun; as was getting to have a look at some of the graffiti on display in the abandoned building we were in.
We were all responsible adults, and even had a fire extinguisher on hand for worse case scenarios – which thankfully was not needed.

You can find more shots on my Facebook page.

Tried my new travel tripod out today, so much smaller and lighter than my “proper” one, but still seems to be sturdy!
It was nice to be out without the pressure of shooting someone else, just me and Krys (and some new graffiti which has appeared since Sunday).

Now I can go and plant the rest of my new plants in the garden, do some pilates and chill out.

Bought a new hat off the internet which came today. It’s black and woolly and knitted but it is *amazing* and yes I am sat here in a winter hat as I put it on my head when it arrived and have not taken it off since : P

In beauty in derelict

Last week I posted around on Facebook asking for time-for-shots (it’s where models give up their time for free in order to receive free shots, but I specified that I wasn’t bothered about people actually being models).

I got a good number of replies and was actually able to choose who I wanted to shoot with ^-^.
Today was the first of these shots, with the lovely Briony. I also had some off camera assistance from her dad, which was fantastic – it is so much easier to shoot a model and have someone else helping rather than doing everything my self!

The shot with the apple is what I set out with in mind, and we managed to get the shot within the first few takes – in fact we only took 24 shots in total anyway! This is another shot that we tried out seeing as we got the original so quickly.

In derelict buildings beauty can blossom

As I’ve never really worked with someone unless I’m friends/related to them this is an exciting challenge for me this week, and I am more than pleased with the results from the first day.
My next collaboration shoot is on Tuesday and I’m hoping the weather stays nice for it as we plan on being outside.
