Day 12 / 16 – Photo in a different location every day challenge
Location 11: The General Cemetery, Sheffield, UK

The cemetery was open from 1836 until 1978 and it has seen over 87,000 burials. It is currently under going some renovation works, so the original location for this shot (the mausoleum) was all fenced off, and my back up location (the church) had rubble outside of it! Grr for me, but I am sure it will look better for it. The cemetery looks to be undergoing a major clean up as well, and I am not too sure how I feel about that. I quite like it’s overgrown nature, although I am quite excited to see what it looks like once the renovations have finished.

By moonlight

Had a go at some moonlit photography tonight. We’d originally gone out for sushi for tea so neither of us were particularly dressed for being out in the cold and as such I decided to play it safe location wise (wanted to go to the countryside, went to the general cemetery which is close to the sushi place).

Not overwhelmingly happy with the shots but this was the first time I’d tried this so it’s a learning experience 🙂 Think I will be adding it to my list of things to practice next year.
