Make yourself at home

I went to sleep last night with a headache, and when I woke up this morning I still had a headache; but other than that I felt fine. Then, just as I was about to leave for work I became ill, then I had a nose bleed (ebola anyone) so I’ve ended up having the day off work. I’ve mainly super glued myself to my laptop in bed and just tried to take my mind off my sore muscles and tummy ache.

As well as that it’s pretty much rained all day. So I dashed outside with some scissors and snipped this Japanese Anemone off of the plant. I was over joyed to see when I turned it up to look inside the flower that there was a little ladybird having a nap! As the flower dried out and warmed up he woke up and wandered around a bit. Since then he seems to have flown off so I’ve no idea where he is now.

This is yesterday’s photo. I was rather busy yesterday (Dying my hair purple and blue, exercise, went out for tea and drinks!) so I’m a day late with the photo. I’ve been quite busy of late, so I’ve ended up defaulting to flowers – one more week until the six week holidays so I should be able to mix it up a bit more then. I’m just grateful that I have so many flowers open in my garden to be able to default to them!

I’ve not done any shots like this for a year. I always thought it was a big hassle to set up, but I snapped this super quick and it didn’t take very long to set up at all. Well, except for trying to find my tripod!
Got a busy night tonight, but not in a bad way at all – I need to pack my clothes for this weekends trip to Edinburgh, prepare special birthday lamb to go in the slow cooker tomorrow morning, and receive presents presents (it’s such a hard life).

I’m not too sure when these popped up in my garden, but judging by the state of the petals it might have been a while ago. I only noticed them yesterday though; they are a late summer flower and they’ve been in my mum’s garden for a couple of months now but only just come out in mine : )

Post 300 🙂

I have decided that this week I am going to spend less time editing and more time reading a book. Guardians of the Moon, book one of the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. I wanted to get  it finished by the time I go on holiday, and I’m less than half way into it with less than a week to go!
