As much as my flower name knowledge has improved since taking photos, I’m not exactly great at it. No idea what this is called, it was in my mums garden.
One thing that always gets on my nerves a bit, is when I’ve labelled something up wrong and people just go “this is not a ___”. OK lovely, but not that helpful – why not tell me what it is as clearly I don’t know!

I went to sleep last night with a headache, and when I woke up this morning I still had a headache; but other than that I felt fine. Then, just as I was about to leave for work I became ill, then I had a nose bleed (ebola anyone) so I’ve ended up having the day off work. I’ve mainly super glued myself to my laptop in bed and just tried to take my mind off my sore muscles and tummy ache.

As well as that it’s pretty much rained all day. So I dashed outside with some scissors and snipped this Japanese Anemone off of the plant. I was over joyed to see when I turned it up to look inside the flower that there was a little ladybird having a nap! As the flower dried out and warmed up he woke up and wandered around a bit. Since then he seems to have flown off so I’ve no idea where he is now.

Day 15 / 16 – Photo in a different location every day challenge
Location 14: My garden, UK

Technically not shot in my garden (even though I have shot in my house twice) so I’m going to allow myself this one. Felt ill yesterday, and don’t really feel much better today. Possibly suffering from back to work blues.

Day 14 / 16 – Photo in a different location every day challenge
Location 13: My mum and dad’s spare room, UK

Sometimes I have an idea, and even though the weather conditions are not right, or I feel poorly, I get so swept up and giddy by the idea that I have to carry it out there and then.

Smoke was today’s idea. I’ve been toying with the idea of using smoke for a while, but I’ve never quite managed to get around to doing anything about it. Until today. After a bit of internetting, I found that I could get some smoke from a shop a 15 minute drive from me. So despite the fact it was chucking it down with rain, despite the fact I felt like poo and had had a really bad headache and felt sick all morning off I went.

Now I knew I couldn’t use the smoke outside because it was raining (although now it’s stopped raining!) so I had to think of somewhere where I could use it inside. I decided that as my brother was at work, and my mum and dad were on holiday their spare room was a good place to go and play. Needless to say they produce quite a lot of smoke, but I managed to not set off the smoke alarm.

I ordered some more smoke of Amazon, but still have some left. Excited to think up a big idea where I can use it outside next 😀

This photo was taken with natural light, which makes for a nice change when I’m shooting in the house ^_^
It’s made me realise just how much I have missed shooting (and generally being in) natural light. I’ve spent the last few months since Christmas playing with studio lights so I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have beautiful natural light outside and streaming through the window.
It’s made me really excited for spring and summer and all the possibilities they will bring! ^_^

Today I got a shiny brand new car. I’ve only ever had one car before and it was 14 years old and had no power steering or central locking. It made strange noises. But i did love it. I bought it when I was at university, then I stuck cartoon daisy stickers all over it (well not all over it, in a diagonal line across the roof).
I believe my old car will get scrapped. But 14 is a good number of years for a car to live and he spent 8 of those with me. Good times.

I had intended to either take a photo of the old car or the new car as photo of the day, but it’s mainly rained a lot and been very windy, so that hasn’t happened.
