After a long day of driving, and a couple of diversions, we arrived at Loch Lomond slightly later than expected but more or less just slightly too late for sunset. I managed to catch the tail end of it, but I suspect if we’d been there at the time I’d planned the sky would have been more interesting for longer.
Can’t do anything about that though, so thankful for the bits of pink and orange I managed to get!
For my birthday my mum and dad, kB and kB’s mum and dad put to and have paid for me (and kB) to go on holiday to the Isle of Skye. It’s an 8+ hour drive from where we live to Skye and so we’ve broken it into bits; stop off at Loch Lomond on the way up, stop off a Bambourgh on the way back (admittingly this is a rather large detour). We set off this morning at 7am, and drove up to the hotel we are stopping in at Loch Lomond. The drive was a nice one, I particularly enjoyed the A66, very pretty countryside on both sides of the road. There was pretty much no traffic the entire journey, but we did see pretty much the whole range of weather; sun, wind, sleet, rain, rainbows…
After we got to the hotel we had some lunch and then set off to find the tree. When I was looking for things to do at Loch Lomond I stumbled across a picture of this tree and knew that I wanted to shoot it myself. So off we went, and it turns out that the tree is pretty much in the car park. It’s rained a lot so the Loch is really full so the water was really far past the tree. It was really, really windy; but luckily the rain had just about stopped whilst we were there. It’s pretty much chucked it down the entire time we’ve been in Scotland!
