Evil Eye Lounge, York

Evil Eye Lounge, York // 20 02 15051 // 365

This is yesterdays photo. It’s a day late as I was in York yesterday/earlier today seeing a band, eating fudge and drinking 7% cider. Then eating sausage. mmmmm.
When me and kB first started going out I think I made us go to York to go to the Jorvik Viking Museum; long and short of it is it’s quite short and smells bad (The museum, not York!). Upon this trip, which was probably about 8 years ago now, we stumbled into the Evil Eye Lounge and had above Ramen soup. It was delicious and started (mainly me) on a rampage of noodle soups.
This week was the Viking Festival, with one of my favourite bands closing it on the Friday so we decided to make a day of it. We also decided to return to the Evil Eye Lounge and retry the soup. It was just as delicious. It’s the soup base that does it <3.

Internet was so bad again yesterday that I couldn’t upload my shot. Sadly I didn’t make this cupcake, we bought it from the shops! It’s been far too hot in the UK to bake!!

Chocolate and Raspberry Cupcakes

I really do enjoy baking. I make the massivest mess ever (and I hate cleaning up! Urgh) but I enjoy the process of mixing all the ingredients together and popping them in the oven.
I’m not very good at decorating though. This might be partiually due to the fact I have a tremor and doing things such as squeezing the icing out of a tube makes it worse, but the more I do it the more I find a way to work around it : )

These are chocolate and raspberry cupcakes. You mix up the chocolate cupcake ingredients, spoon it into cases then add in some frozen raspberries!
They explode when they cook so there are little gooey caves when you bite into them.
mmmmmm.

Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings

mmmmm, made by me ^_^
Been fancying chicken wings for a while – when we went food shopping on Wednesday I forgot to pick some up so kB had to go out and get some. There were a looooot of chicken wings, but I cooked them all thinking that we could have them for dinner tomorrow…

I really like salt and pepper chicken wings, so I decided to have a go at making some. I mixed sea salt with Chinese five spice and chilli flakes and rubbed it onto the skin (after I’d put a thin layer of sunflower oil on each wing with a brush). Then I sprinked white pepper over the top. I put the whole thing in the oven at 180 degrees C for about 30 mins, turning them over once, then turned them back over and cranked it up to 200 for the last 5-10 mins. I love turning things over when cooking, hahaha.

They were delicious and we ate them all :-B
