Cave Dale

Yesterday was a nice day; the skies were more or less clear and there was no rain forecast, so we went to Castleton, parked up (free to park on the road in the week if it’s not a bank holiday!) and walked up Cave Dale

The Path Down

I’d set off wearing far too many layers; hat, scarf, gloves, coat, fleecey jumper… And clearly that was all unnecessary and came off half way up!

It was nice and quiet whilst we were there and we were trying to follow a route, but we ended up slightly off-piste. When we were back in Castleton we stopped in a café and had sandwiches and a drink before coming home.

Sheep! // 22 01 2022

Today we went for a walk up to Mam Tor, which is in Castleton in the Peak District. It was super windy up there, and the air had a bite in it, but otherwise it was a pleasant walk about.

Admiring the View

There were loads of people out and about. And a lot of sheep too!

At Mam Tor

As part of my holiday time I like to get out and about. Mam Tor has been on my To Do list for some time, but it’s never been at the top of the list because it’s almost an hour away. Not that far I know but it’s far enough at a 2 hour round trip, plus a walk when you’ve got gammy legs

As kB has two weeks off as well I decided that we should go on a couple of walks. Makes you appreciate eating warm, yummy food more if you’ve been out hiking!

The day was pretty nice, but the further out we got into the Peak District, the hazier it was. I also realised that my beloved 18-35mm had gotten stuck at a wide aperture (It capsized into a rock pool a year and a half ago, so it’s managed quite well since then really!)

After we had mooched around for an hour and half, we drove home, with a pit stop at Fox House for refuelling on the way! Mam Tor

I didn’t think I’d end up with much in terms of photos, but I used the Dehaze tool in Lightroom for the first time and I’ve been suitably impressed by it.
