Feeling these dark winter nights. My default setting is flower, macro 🙂
Today I went for a walk with my mum and dad. The best thing about living close to the countryside is the fact that we don’t have to drive to be able to go on nice walks.
This walk ended up being a bit longer than I initially anticipated. The other way when we had been on another walk I have noticed a weird looking field; there was some sort of crop or bush in it with a swirl like path. Today I decided I wanted to investigate it.
We didn’t quite make it to that exact field, but we did end up nearby, and from this view spot we could see the weird crop field, and some buzzards circulating.
One of my favourite things about the winter is the low sun, and the long shadows it creates. The contrast between the highlight and the shadows is just lovely, as well as the hazy, dreamlike feel everything has.
The walk was particularly enjoyable as the weather was so mild.
Another quick one – at my favourite place. I was hoping for back lit leaves but I’d mis-calculated how low the sun would be in the sky.
First day back at work today. I was full of big ambitions when I got in from work; ambitions about HIIT training and oven cleaning. In fact I managed to have a nap. I did manage to finish cleaning the oven whilst cooking tea #multitasking, and I did my HIIT after tea at the gym with my mum. So I did everything I planned to do, just not quite in the order I planned on doing it.
Today’s shot is from the field next to my house, taken in the gap between tea and going to the gym. Most of the field had been mowed recently, but there is a patch of grass near some trees at the far side which never gets mowed. I walked into the grass, realised I was surrounded by big fat spiders and backed slowly out. I then went to the less grassy area of grass and took this.

Attempt two to find a fox was not a success. So I ended up with a lovely dewy leaf shot instead.
