I love it when the buttercups come out! ^_^
It was really windy whilst I was shooting this, and cold. Well it wasn’t cold, cold; but you would have wanted a jumper on. Which is a bit rubbish really given that it is June tomorrow!

The Descent & The Other Side
This was the image that I thought wasn’t going to work out. It was rather difficult to know where to stand so that the camera focused on my head. I then had to move to get the motion whilst trying to end up with my head in the same spot so that it remained in focus.
I had two other shots to fall back on if it didn’t work, but then, when I looked at the on the PC and started to edit them I rather liked this one. The shot that I took that I thought would be “the one” was the one I liked the least.
Strange how these things work out!
Sunset over fields of sunshine
This is a couple of weeks old now. For some reason I forgot to post it on here. I think it’s the lack of routine with not posting every day that does it!
It’s half term now though so I’m going to try and shoot every day if I can. I’ve done today’s photos, and I’ll post them tomorrow.
Since then I’ve been on the Featured thingy on WordPress, so gained a few new followers (hello!) and loads of comments and likes on the post about Holland. Kind of wish I’d put more effort into the actual blogging side of it, but then again this isn’t about me writing epic tales, it’s about photos. So. Whatever.
The Beginning
Despite not having to take a photo on the first of January, I set my alarm for just before sunrise so that I could be on location just before the sun was up. As much as I wasn’t really looking for the early morning light, I was looking to be alone.
I was dressed in a Viking style dress that’s about 4 sizes too big for me and tied at the waste with brown sting; and planned on being bare foot lying in a puddle. The location for the puddle with a line of trees in the background what I had found was on the edge of a small “car park” near where I live. Said car park/surrounding areas gets populated with dog walkers and I’d much prefer to not be gawped at as a lie in a puddle. Bare foot. In winter.
In true sods-law fashion it also happened to be really cold as I set out. It was the first morning this winter that I’d had to de-ice my car, which didn’t make me look forward to lying in a puddle bare foot any more than I already was!
On the plus side the car park was empty when I arrived. I took a couple of tester shots with my boots and jumper on as I didn’t want to be running back and forth in the cold bare foot to check composition and focusing, and as I was doing so a car drove past. So I grabbed my camera and sat in my car. Oddly it drove past (The car park is pretty much at a dead end, there is about 3 cars worth of space after the turn in for the car park), so I wondered if it parked past the car park. However just as I was feeling brave enough to get back out of the car it drove back past – and it was a police car, clearly someone had phoned me in 😉
Shots were taken without incident, just very cold feet and hands. The ice cracked a bit as I took the last few shots so I knew time was running out.
I then decided to boot up and venture into the woods at the back of the shot to grab the next shot in the series. At this point, just as I was walking into the woods a car pulled up (dog walker), then another car. So the timing could not have been better!
I grabbed another two shots (Only one of which involved taking my boots off again) and then was home before kB had even woken up properly.
Happy New Year!

Quite pleased with myself today; 30 minutes exercise bike, 30 minutes circuit training, 40+ minutes dancing.
We aimed to go to a tone and sculpt class, only to find out that the receptionist had told us it was on when in fact it had stopped running weeks ago. As we were already out and there was a clubercise (dancing in the dark with glowsticks! lol!) class on we decided to just go for it. Enjoyed it probably more than I should have. Will return…
Return to dust
Had this shot in mind for a while, but kept putting it off. I’d decided that I was doing it today the other day, but then of course it rained all day. Never one to be put off by a bit of rain I shot it anyway… 🙂
Looking forward to going to York tomorrow :-B
Here is some Moonsorrow goodness (kB *hates* them and he is not looking forward to seeing them at all *bwa hahaha*) from when we saw them at Bloodstock in 2012. kB hated them then, he hates them now. Yet he shall have to watch them tomorrow. Hopefully the sound will be better!
I always try to find myself in these videos, not that I’ve ever managed to, but I can tell you exactly where I was stood….
Quite looking forward to stopping in a hotel when we do Bloodstock this year, gammy joints totally winning there as it’s so not metal to stop in a hotel, but joint pain is a valid reason to sleep in a bed not on the floor.
Having said that I quite like camping at BOA, and will miss the traditional Thursday night/Friday morning BBQs, the overwhelming amount of Haribo consumed at literally any time of day or night no questions asked, and warm cider.
From mist
kB was away last night, and I had pondered getting up to go shoot another shot in the same place as Monday. Upon waking I decided to go for it, so this was again shot in 10 mins. A bit embarrassing as a woman was walking three dogs pretty much past where I was after I’d set up (seriously there was so much space EVERYWHERE ELSE). Normally that would have put me off, but I was already set up, in a fancy dress in the 3 degree winter morning laying on a bath mat amongst the rabbit poo…. Classy.
The bath mat wasn’t really big enough to accommodate my feet, so my boots got really muddy. I’d not really anticipated how wet it would be (silly), and they were my work boots. When I got to work I tried to clean them off the best I could but it wasn’t really happening.
Anywhoo another shot in the bag before 8am. *winning*

Of the bleakness of cold winter days
029 // 365
Yet more snow today, which resulted in a snow day.
I can’t remember a day more productive. I got up as usual and set off to work, then whilst I was stuck in traffic at the end of my road I got a message saying that work wouldn’t open until 1030. So I had to sit in traffic for 15 mins to get to a roundabout so I could do a U turn and go back home. As I had unexpectedly gained 2 hours, I decided I would do my exercise and have a shower. I ended up cleaning the kitchen a bit too.
Just as I was getting ready to leave for the second time I got another text from a colleague who had gone into work before the first message was sent out saying that work was shut! Woop!
By 1030 I’d done exercise, had a shower, cleaned the kitchen, done today’s photo, sorted out the washing and was sat watching naff daytime TV whilst drinking a cup of tea! ^_^
