Today we decided to go for a drive and a walk. We (or more correctly I) decided on Thor’s Cave. It’s been on my to do list for years now, mainly because it’s because Thor’s Cave. And I love Vikings :-B But also because I wanted to see if all my exercise had helped my joints.
The general idea is that I have ligaments which don’t work properly, so my muscles have to work twice as hard to keep everything in place. But I have underdeveloped thigh and bum muscles! So nothing was really being held in place and I was in a lot of pain most of the time.
It’s been a bit of a catch 22 as I knew I needed to do exercise to make it better but it hurt to do the exercise so I never wanted to start doing it properly.
The thing that pushed me over the edge was realising I’ve put 2 stone on as well, so for the last 6 weeks I’ve been diligently exercising. I’ve not lost any weight but I’ve got a lot stronger and my measurements have gone down so I’m getting thinner and stronger.
The walk was OK and we scrambled inside the cave after we’d posed epically on the top of it. It was really slippy and muddy inside but we managed to make it in and out without incident, and my legs remained fine! I think I’m going to try for a bigger walk next week though and see how I go then.
Wonderful shot! Good estear
